Textacy is a calling and texting app that gives you an additional phone number on the phone you already have. Use it for texts, picture messages and calls you’d rather keep separate from your personal number.

Textacy is free to download on the App Store and Google Play. If anything inside the app has a cost, you’ll see the price in the app before you’re ever charged.

Yes. When you sign up you choose your number from the ones available, so you can find one you like.

No. Your Textacy number sends regular SMS and MMS messages, and your calls ring people’s normal phones. They’ll just see your Textacy number.

Textacy works over the internet, so calls and messages in the app use Wi-Fi or your mobile data rather than your carrier’s minutes and texts. Standard data rates from your carrier may apply.

Textacy is available for iPhone (iOS 12.4 or later) on the App Store, and for Android phones on Google Play.

Open the conversation and use the menu to block the number or delete the chat. Blocked numbers can’t text or call your Textacy number.

Textacy is not a replacement for your mobile carrier and should not be relied on for emergency calls. In an emergency, always dial 911 from your phone’s built-in dialer.
